注目の若手フォトグラファー、Reylia Slabyの作品展です。日本で生まれ育ちながらもアメリカ人としてのアイデンティティを持つ彼女は、日本文化が持つ幻想的な物語や情景をモチーフに作品を制作しています。自身の内なるものを外へ表出するために、カメラを使用してきた彼女の作品は、ただ美しいだけでなく、作品世界に引き込むような力強さと観客の心情に寄り添うような優しさを持ち合わせています。演劇的とも言えるそのイメージはファインアートとしても高く評価されており、時空を超えた別世界に見る人を誘います。
本展では厳選した12点の作品を大型のプリントと額装でご覧いただきます。
1992年 大阪出身、奈良県生駒市在住。
十代の頃から鉛筆画作品(グラファイトリアリズム)などを発表する傍ら、写真の世界に興味を持ち、創作的な作品を発表する写真家として現在に至る。
彼女が生み出す作品は、両親がアメリカ人ながら情緒豊かな日本で生まれ育った生活環境に大きな影響を受けている。その独自の感性と審美的な世界観は、見るものを幻想的な情景へと誘い、どこか癒される不思議な感覚を醸し出している。

Reylia Slaby's intimate and emotive work strives to bring the inner workings of the mind to a photograph. Inspiration for each theme was pulled from the desire to translate experiences and emotions in her life, as well as challenge preconceived conceptions of identity and the human condition.
Having been born in Japan, Reylia uses the influences from her upbringing to create works and worlds that thread in the Japanese aesthetic. Her creative process involves sketching out the scene, building sets and props from scratch, as well as film and darkroom practices.
Reylia was born in Osaka, Japan and is currently based in Nara. Her art practice focuses on fine art and includes photography, mixed media, and poetry.
