Important Notice from Nikon
Attention: Owners of Nikon F65 QD and N65 QD black body cameras
Please be advised that a malfunction in the Quartz Data back* part of the above referenced camera models has been identified.
(*Quartz Data back allows you to imprint your chosen data, either year/month/day, day/hour/minute, month/day/year, or day/month/year, in the right bottom area of the picture you take.)
There are two kinds of batteries used in the above referenced camera models; i.e., a pair of 3V lithium battery (CR2) that powers the camera body and one 3V lithium battery (CR2025) that exclusively powers the QD back. The identified malfunction is due to a transistor installation located in the cameras Quartz Data back that is not operating properly, resulting in a very short battery life for the 3V lithium battery (CR2025). Normal life of the battery that powers the QD back is approximately 3 years. Due to the malfunction the QD backs battery life is shortened to 3-6 months. This condition is limited exclusively to the QD back operation. When the battery is exhausted, QD functions simply stop. It does not affect any other aspects of the cameras performance at all.
Those who own any of the above referenced camera models are kindly asked to contact your local Nikon Distributor, or Nikons Service facility for important repair information.
We regret this inconvenience and look forward to being of prompt and satisfying service to you.
