Q.No.4125: Why does not the ISO Auto function work when the exposure mode is set to Auto Multi Program mode despite ISO Auto having been turned ON from the Custom Settings menu?
Ans : ISO Auto does perform in Auto Multi Program and Aperture-Priority Auto modes.
However, under the following circumstances, ISO Auto may not perform well.

- Shooting in a dark environment with the exposure mode set to Auto Multi Program:
As shutter speed can be set to a maximum of 30 seconds and the metering system generally responds to this 30 second range, it is difficult for ISO Auto to function properly.
However, ISO Auto performs well when shooting in well-lit surroundings with ISO set to 1600.

- Shooting with Center-weighted metering or Spot metering applied:
When photographing a subject with either extremely bright or extremely dark portions outside of the active
metering area, the D100 determines that ISO Auto is not necessary and the function sometimes fails to operate.
