Q.No.4115: What new functions have been added with the D100 firmware upgrade?
Ans : The following new functions have been added with the D100 firmware upgrade.

- Support for Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP)
PTP has been added to the USB protocols supported by the D100, making it possible to control the camera from Macintosh (Nikon Capture 3 version 3.5 or later required).

- Support for Lexar Media ProSeries CompactFlash Memory Cards with Write Acceleration Technology
By using the above cards, you can expect a reduction in write times up to approximately ten percent.

- Support for ICC Profile Embedding
An ICC profile (Adobe RGB) is now embedded with photographs taken in Color Mode II.
This allows the correct color space to be selected automatically when such images are opened in Adobe Photoshop or in other applications that support color management.

- New File Names for Voice Memos
Voice memos added to photographs using the MB-D100 multi-function battery pack now have file names of the form gDSC_nnnn.WAVh, where gnnnnh is the same four-digit number assigned to the associated image file.
