Q.No.3005: When connecting the camera and computer via USB under Windows 98SE, the Nikon Transfer window is not displayed.
Ans 1. Verify that the USB cable is connected securely to the camera.
2. Delete "Nikon Digital Camera E2500" from "Unknown Devices or "Other Devices" in the Device Manager.

Opening the Device Manager
Click My Computer with the right mouse button and select Properties. Click the "Device Manager" tab.
3. Turn the camera OFF.
4. Place the Nikon View 5 CD-ROM in the computer's CD drive.
5. When the "Welcome" window is displayed, select Custom Install, check ONLY the "Mass Storage Driver" option, and click Install (verify that all options other than "Mass Storage Driver" are NOT selected).
6. When the "Setup" window is displayed, click OK.
7. Click OK when the "Installation Complete" dialog is displayed.
8. When the dialog asking whether your computer should be restarted immediately is displayed, click Yes.
9. Once the computer has restarted, turn the camera ON. The Nikon Transfer window will be displayed.
