| Ans : | Nikon View 5 is supported under the Windows 98SE (Second Edition) operating system.
Installation is not possible under the Windows 98 system version preceding Windows 98SE. Verify the operating system of your PC Double-click System which can be found at My Computer > Control Panels > System. Your PC's operating system is displayed at the top right of the "General" page. If your PC is using the Windows 98 operating system and not Windows 98SE it is impossible to transfer images directly from the camera to the PC regardless of whether the PC includes a preinstalled USB port or not. See below for alternate methods of transferring images to Windows 98 PCs. |
| 1. | Laptop computers with a pre-installed PC card slot
Insert the CF card in a PC card adapter (available separately) which supports CompactFlashTM cards. A CF card inserted in a PC card adapter which is then inserted in the laptop computer's card slot (or a PC card reader connected to a desktop computer) will be displayed as a new drive in My Computer. Once the CF card is recognized by the PC, images can be viewed, copied, or otherwise manipulated in the standard manner. |

For PCs without a pre-installed PC card slot, use a card reader (available separately) which supports CompactFlashTM cards. |
