Q.No.2703: The Image Transfer dialog is not displayed when the camera is connected to my computer via a USB cable.
Ans : If the Image Transfer dialog is not displayed even though the computer recognizes the device (click here to find out how to confirm whether the computer recognizes the camera), check that:
1. Nikon View 4 is installed.
2. The animated rectangular display appears in the control panel (COOLPIX 995).
3. The battery or batteries are charged and inserted in the camera.
4. The memory card is inserted in the camera.
5. There are images on the memory card.
6. Start Nikon View 4 manually and open the Preferences dialog.
If Disable auto start is selected in the "Auto start" tab, select Transfer tool (small window).
Turn the camera off and on again.
7. Check that the USB cable is fully inserted in the computer's USB connector.
Try disconnecting and reinserting the cable.
8. Check that your computer is running a pre-installed version of Windows.
Operation is not guaranteed on operating systems that have been upgraded from Windows 95.
