An internal reserve power source, charged by the main power source ( AC adapter, lithium or rechargeable lithium-ion battery ), is used to back up these data.
Charging begins when the main battery is inserted or the EH-53 or EH-21 AC adapter ( available separately ) is connected, and shops automatically in ten hours.
Once charged, this power source will supply back-up power for up to three days when the main battery or adapter is removed.
Ahtough the camera is designed with power-saving features that reduce the drain on the battery while the camera is off,
we recommend that you remove the batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
Note, however, that the clock-calendar may need to be reset.
