| Q.No.1944: | What is "noise reduction"? |
| Ans : | It is a property of CCDs that "noise" in the form of randomly-spaced brightly colored pixels
tends to appear in images taken at slow shutter speeds, such as night landscapes.
To reduce noise, photos taken at speeds slower than 1/4 second (scene mode) or one second (custom mode) are processed as they are being saved to the memory card. As a result, the time required to save photographs more than doubles. Noise reduction is not available in auto mode. |
