Applicable model(s) COOLPIX775

Q.No.1913: How many photos can I store on a memory card?
What is the compression ratio?
Ans : The table below is a guide to the number of images that can be stored on Nikon memory cards of various sizes at different combinations of image quality and size.
The figures given are those displayed in the camera's exposure-count display.
The amount of images that can be stored on memory cards of other volumes will vary in proportion to the capacity of the card.

Memory Card Capacity for the COOLPIX775 (Figures for Reference Only)
Image Size Image Quality 8 MB Card 64 MB Card
FULL
( 1600~1200 )
FINE 8 66
NORMAL 16 131
BASIC 31 256
XGA
( 1024~768 )
FINE 19 159
NORMAL 38 306
BASIC 71 578
VGA
( 640~480 )
FINE 48 390
NORMAL 88 710
BASIC 161 1301
Note : Because images are compressed using JPEG compression, file size will vary with the composition and type of subject.
As a result, memory cards may hold fewer images than indicated in the above table.

Compression ratios for FINE, NORMAL, and BASIC are approximately 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16, respectively.
